The right Alltel prepaid cell phone plan can work well for individuals who do not want monthly cell phone bills. With three prepaid cell phone plans to choose from, Alltel offers an alternative to the traditional one to two-year cell phone contract and associated billing structure. Enter your zip code to see if you live within the Alltel cell phone plan service area. Alltel is located in Arkansas and their service is not available throughout the US. If you live in areas like New York or New Jersey, look to other services such as Verizon or T-Mobile prepaid cell phones.

Select one of Alltel’s prepaid cell phone plans. Alltel wireless offers a per day plan for 75 cents per day plus 10 cents per minute for text messaging, a 15 cents per minute plan which includes nationwide and international ional calls (they charge 59 cents per minute roaming) and a monthly plan for $29.99 which includes 200 anytime minutes and 1,000 night and weekend minutes.
Step 4
Modify the plan. While the daily and minute prepaid cell phone plans don’t have options, Alltel wireless allows prepaid cell phone users to increase the anytime minutes from 200 to 400 minutes which also increases the night/weekend minutes from 1,000 to 2,000 for an additional $10 per month. Cell phone users also have the option to choose 700 anytime minutes for $69.99 per month, which also includes unlimited nights and weekend usage (visit the web site for further plan details).
Step 5
Choose the phone. After you’ve decided on which Alltel prepaid cell phone plan works best for you, choose the phone. Phone prices range from free to a few hundred dollars. Make sure the phone you select is compatible with the prepaid cell phone you choose.
Step 6
Use an Alltel coupon. Before you enter your credit card information to purchase the phone and the prepaid cell phone plan, be sure to use available Alltel coupons. Web sites like Retailmenot.com and Couponmountain.com offer coupons for Alltel phones. Always make sure to double-check the coupon expiration dates before using.
